Pour les amoureux de la nature, Vézénobres est un véritable paradis. La figue en est l’un des symboles. En effet, au XIème siècle se tenait la foire de la Saint-André, réputée dans toute la France pour la vente, l’achat et l’échange de figue venant de l’ensemble de l’Europe.
Depuis, Vézénobres a redonné ses lettres de noblesse à cette période et à ce fruit (qui n’en est pas véritablement un) en créant au début du XXIème siècle un verger conservatoire de la figue, regroupant sur 2 hectares pas moins de 1 000 arbres pour une centaine de variétés différentes.
C’est aussi en 2019 que la Maison de la Figue a ouvert ses portes. Il s’agit d’un espace scénographique dédié au figuier et ouvert à tous les visiteurs. Entre expériences ludiques, petits films et boutiques contenant une multitude de produits locaux, cet endroit est un incontournable du village.



Le Label "Villages de Caractère"
Le site est labellisé Villages de Caractère et son impact dans le paysage gardois est incontournable.
Ce label touristique est décerné par le Conseil Général du Gard afin de valoriser les villages typiques de la destination gardoise. Vézénobres se distingue par sa situation perchée, sur le versant abrupt d’une colline où s’était sans doute élevé un oppidum antique. La cité médiévale s’est développée le long de trois rues parallèles reliées entre elles par plusieurs ruelles pentues (les «endrounes»).
